Inside a Free Growth Diagnosis: What We Actually Audit (With Real Examples)

When we say "free growth diagnosis," the natural question is: what does that actually mean? What do you get, what does it cover, and how specific is it?

This post walks through each of the five areas we audit — with anonymised examples from real clinics — so you know exactly what to expect.

How the Diagnosis Works

Before the detail: the logistics. You submit a short request form (takes about 10 minutes). We run the audit using publicly available data — your Google Business Profile, website, local search data, and review platforms. No access to your systems, no passwords, no logins required.

Within 24 hours, you receive a written report. It covers all five areas below with specific findings and ranked recommendations. It's yours to keep regardless of what you decide to do next.

Area 1: GBP Health Score

We score your Google Business Profile across eight checkpoints: claimed status, category accuracy, hours completeness, photo recency, service list, description, booking link, and review response rate.

What we look for: Profiles that are incomplete, stale, or miscategorised. The most common issue we find is clinics listed under the wrong primary category — "Health" or "Medical Clinic" instead of "Dentist." This alone can suppress your Maps ranking.

Real example (anonymised): A clinic we audited recently had been open for six years and had a claimed GBP, but hadn't uploaded a photo in 16 months, had four unanswered 1-star reviews, and had the wrong primary category. Their Maps ranking was #8 for "dentist" in their area. Within five weeks of fixing these specific issues, they entered the top 3.

What we include in the report: Your specific GBP score out of 8, which checkpoints you're failing, and exactly what to fix — not generic advice, but the specific changes for your profile.

Area 2: Website Conversion Score

We audit your website across seven conversion checkpoints: CTA visibility above the fold, page load time on mobile, click-to-call functionality, booking flow depth (number of clicks to complete), social proof placement, form functionality across devices, and CTA integrity (no broken links).

What we look for: Structural conversion problems that are invisible to the owner but obvious to a patient trying to book. The most commonly missed issue is a slow load time — clinics often don't test their site on mobile connections.

Real example (anonymised): One audit found a website that loaded in 8.2 seconds on mobile and had a booking button that redirected to a 404 error. The clinic was spending on Google Ads and couldn't understand why conversion was near zero. The ads were fine. The landing destination was the problem.

What we include in the report: Your conversion score out of 7, the specific issues we found, and a prioritised fix list — ordered by impact, not complexity.

Area 3: Local SEO Keyword Gaps

We identify the top 10 local search terms relevant to your clinic — things like "dentist [area]," "emergency dentist [area]," "NHS dentist near me," "teeth whitening [area]" — and check your current ranking against your top 3 competitors for each one.

What we look for: Terms where you have zero ranking that competitors are winning. These are the direct traffic opportunities you're missing.

Real example (anonymised): A clinic that had been "doing SEO" for over a year was ranking on page one for their practice name (which is not what new patients search). They were on page 3 or absent entirely for 7 of the top 10 local terms. Competitors were capturing that traffic. The fix required creating two location service pages — not a major undertaking.

What we include in the report: Your ranking vs. competitors on the top local terms, identified gaps, and a prioritised list of which keywords to target first and why.

Area 4: Review Sentiment Analysis

We analyse your current star average, total review count, review velocity (new reviews per 30/60/90 days), response rate, and how this compares to your top 3 local competitors.

What we look for: The gap between your review profile and the clinics ranking above you in Maps. We also flag unanswered negative reviews — which both suppress ranking and deter patients at the decision moment.

Real example (anonymised): A clinic with 4.1 stars and 31 reviews was being outcompeted by a clinic with 4.8 stars and 94 reviews. The difference wasn't the quality of dentistry — it was systematic review follow-up. The lower-rated clinic had no ask process; the higher-rated one sent a post-visit SMS requesting a review. Both clinics were receiving roughly the same feedback from patients — only one was capturing it.

What we include in the report: Your star average vs. competitors, review velocity data, response rate, and a specific recommendation for the review follow-up system most suited to your practice size.

Area 5: Patient Follow-Up Assessment

We assess whether your clinic has active systems for: 6-month recall reminders, post-visit follow-up, lapsed patient re-engagement, and referral asks. We also estimate your approximate annual patient attrition risk based on what's in place.

What we look for: Missing systems, not patient data. We're looking at whether the infrastructure exists — not what's in your practice management software.

Real example (anonymised): A clinic we audited had excellent clinical care and good reviews, but no recall system, no lapsed patient re-engagement, and no referral ask process. By their own estimate, roughly 30% of first-year patients didn't return for a second appointment. Implementing a recall SMS system and a 90-day lapsed patient email brought that figure down significantly within 3 months — without spending a penny on advertising.

What we include in the report: Which of the four follow-up systems you have in place, which are missing, and the estimated patient lifetime value impact of adding each one.

What the Full Report Looks Like

The deliverable is a written document — not a slide deck, not a generic PDF template. It covers your specific findings across all five areas, a summary of your top 3 leaks ranked by patient impact, and a prioritised action list.

It's specific enough to act on immediately, or to hand to a developer/marketer with clear instructions.

The report is yours to keep. If you want to walk through it on a call — 20 minutes, no pitch — we're happy to. If you want to take it away and act on it yourself — also completely fine.
